A 36-year-old pregnant Amish woman was picking berries in the woods near her home in Pennsylvania, with her husband and two children, in the morning.
All of a sudden the sky darkened and it started raining. Mary H. Yoder, who was nine months pregnant, took shelter under a pine tree while her husband and the children ducked under another tree.
Lightning struck her after a few minutes, killing Mary and her unborn child.
Police officer Steven Limani said that the tragedy happened to have been Mary’s due date.
