The crisis in PDP seems to be more complicated as
Sheriff's candidate for 2016 Edo state gubernatorial candidate has
submitted his form to INEC.Senator Modu Sheriff yesterday unveiled
Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen as PDP candidate for the governorship contest.In
a ceremony at his Gana Street office, Tuesday evening, Senator Sheriff
said the Independent National Electoral Commission was obliged to
accept his candidate when he formally presents him to the electoral
body.
MR Matthew Iduoriyekemwen,after emerging as the PDP flag bearer in the primaries conducted by the Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP picked ex-National Woman Leader of the PDP, Herbetta Okonofua, as his running mate for the election.Okonofua who is from the Central senatorial district of the state, the area where the mainstream candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu,is likely to worsen the crisis as the votes from the region is likely to be shared.
It should be recalled that Port-Harcourt court ruling sacked Sheriff and recognised the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led panel as the authentic leadership of the party.Despite the ruling Senator Sheriff said he would be relying on last week’s judgment by Justice Okon Abang of Federal High Court in Abuja to present.
The wahala continues in PDP.It suffices to say that PDP is a one party with two candidates in Edo state.Abeg who we go vote for?
