Can you spot the message that was hidden in this picture for 12 years?

Some say it is an accident, some say it was put there on purpose, all we know is that the secret message in this picture was there for 12 years before anybody noticed.

A student designed the front cover of a graduation programme for the Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles. But since 2004 nobody has noticed the hidden word that appears in the picture.
