Again, FG Reduces Petrol Pump Price From ₦125 To ₦123.5 Per Litre


The Federal Government on Tuesday evening reduced the cost of petrol from N125/litre to N123.5/litre.

Present gasoline price suggests a decrease of N1.5 on every litre of gasoline purchased nationwide.

It announced the reduction with the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, after an entire morning meeting with stakeholders in the engine oil as well as gas market in Abuja.

To announce the reduction, the Executive Secretary of the PMS pricing regulator, "PPPRA, said, Abdulkadir Saidu, in line together with the government endorsement for month review of Premium

"Motor Spirit pump cost hereby announces guiding PMS pump cost of N123.50 a litre.

"The leading cost that becomes useful 1st April 2020, shall use at all retail outlets nationwide because of the month of April 2020. PPPRA along with other related regulatory agencies shall go on to keep an eye on compliance to extant laws for a sustainable downstream oil sector."

It included, "Members of the general public and most oil advertising businesses are being guided accordingly."

The spokesperson for PPPRA, Kimchi Apollo, had informed the correspondent of ours during 7.30pm that stakeholders was meeting on the brand new cost after Tuesday morning.

Officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, petroleum entrepreneurs as well as labour unions, among others, who make up the oil products priced modulation committee went to the conference.

On March nineteen, 2020, one day after the Federal Government announced the pump cost of N125/litre for gasoline, the PPPRA declared that we had the potential for a brand new priced program for any PMS beginning from April one, 2020.

It clarified the N125/litre price might keep going till the conclusion of March, as a brand new cost for petrol may be introduced on April one.
