The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a nationwide recall involving specialty beverage powders distributed across 25 states following concerns over possible Salmonella contamination.
According to health authorities, the recall was initiated after non-fat dry milk powder supplied to manufacturer SKS Copack was suspected to be contaminated. Although no illnesses had been confirmed as of the announcement date, officials described the move as a precautionary measure aimed at protecting consumers.
The affected products were widely used in cafés, coffee shops, and bubble tea outlets to prepare flavored beverages. Brands included in the recall are Angel Specialty Products, Royal Gold, Boba Time, Fanale, and Denda. Products impacted include various powdered drink mixes such as matcha blends, milk tea powders, caramel latte mixes, cappuccino powders, and vanilla or mocha-flavored beverages.
Health experts warn that Salmonella infection can cause symptoms including diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting. While many healthy individuals recover without complications, the infection may pose serious health risks for children, elderly persons, and people with weakened immune systems.
The recalled products were reportedly distributed in states including California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Washington, Nevada, Massachusetts, and several others across the country.
Consumers and food service operators have been advised to check packaging details and lot numbers on affected products. Authorities recommend disposing of any recalled items immediately or returning them to the point of purchase.
Medical experts also advised individuals who recently consumed specialty beverages and later developed symptoms associated with food poisoning to seek medical attention promptly.
The FDA said investigations into the source of the contamination are ongoing as officials continue monitoring the situation.
